As early as 2004, Rachel Herwartz developed a terminology database with Access, the PE-Term©, together with her students at the FH Furtwangen (Furtwangen University).
In her company TermSolutions, she's leading the development of the terminology management system term Xplorer and the terminology checker termXact since 2006, coordinating a team of up to six developers specializing in various programming and scripting languages (python, mySQL/PHP, java, javaScript, .NET, C#).
From 2014 to 2021, she managed with her team the app production of the vocabulary trainer as an external member of the DevOp team at a schoolbook publisher. This production line consisted of the data transfer from DMS (File Management System for the vocabulary) and MDM (Media DataManagement System for pictures and audios) to the Trainer-App until publication in the web shop.
Since 2019, she held a professorship in translation and terminology management at the SDI Munich International University. As head of the Master's program in Translation Management, she teaches the prospective LangOps in Terminology, Translation (Business) Management and Language Orchestration, but also in Prompting and Python.
